Corporate Profile
Matrix Asset Management Inc.
Matrix Asset Management provides diversified asset and wealth management for both individual and institutional investors. We are dedicated to delivering consistent returns and remaining open and accessible to all our partners.
Matrix is unique in combining for investors:
- a strong retail presence
- venture capital expertise
- a broad family of mutual funds
- investment professionals with over 450 years combined investment management expertise
Matrix operates three divisions: GrowthWorks, Matrix Fund Management, and SEAMARK Asset Management. Each of our divisions has a strong performance record and supports our vision of providing above average returns at below average risk.
GrowthWorks, founded in 1998, continues to manage the first retail venture capital fund in BC, which has become the largest in western Canada. The company expanded to other regions across Canada resulting in a strong national program in venture capital. GrowthWorks is now the largest venture capital fund manager in the country.
To offer investors a broader range of mutual funds, GrowthWorks acquired Mavrix Fund Management Inc. in 2009. Mavrix was an award-winning specialty mutual fund manager.
In 2010, GrowthWorks joined with SEAMARK Asset Management Ltd. to form Matrix Asset Management Inc. SEAMARK provides investment management services to institutional and high net worth private clients, including through managed portfolio advisory ("wrap") programs of leading Canadian investment dealers.
The Mavrix specialty funds are now part of our larger Matrix Funds Management family of mutual funds. Matrix Funds Management provides a diverse range of mutual fund investment options. GrowthWorks and SEAMARK continue to operate and build on their unique brands.
Matrix is a medium-sized investment firm with approximately $1.9 billion in assets under management. We are listed under the trading symbol "MTA" on the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX"). The company has offices across Canada.
